Our Mission
The Bishop Ambrose College Alumni Association seeks to foster a lifelong relationship between alumni and the college. We provide an inclusive, supportive space for alumni to stay involved, share their experiences and contribute to the continuous success of the college. The association also serves as a bridge to connect alumni with each other and with the current students, allowing them to exchange knowledge, ideas, and opportunities.

Timeline and Activities
On 5th January 2019 at 5:00 PM, Rev. Fr. Dr. R D E Jerome, Bishop Ambrose College Secretary, the College Principal and the Management, along with Rev. Fr. Antony Ganaprakasam as the Coordinator of Alumni Association and Ms. Antony Matilda as the Secretary of Alumni Association, led the foundation of the “Bishop Ambrose Alumni Association”. It was the First Great Alumni Meet ever conducted and the team agreed the Alumni Meet to be conducted Year on Year.
On 7th March 2022, the Peer Team Visit took place. The meeting focused on planning for the Jubilee celebrations, the vision and mission of the Alumni Association, and strategies to assist unemployed passed-out students in securing better placements. The discussion also centered on alumni contributions in terms of moral support, relationship building, and how the association can help develop the college and increase the new admission count. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) recommended, registration of the Bishop Ambrose Alumni Association.
On 20th August 2022 at 3:00 PM, the Alumni Meet 2022 was held at the Open Auditorium, presided by Alumni Association Coordinator Rev. Father Antony Ganaprakasam. This event saw alumni from the 2000 to 2022 batches come together, with around 250 alumni attending the gathering. During the meet, elections were held to form a robust Alumni Association Committee.
On 25th August 2022, the Executive Committee Members of the Bishop Ambrose Alumni Association were announced. Under the presidency of the Secretary of the College, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. RDE Jerome, and the Principal, Dr. A Peter Raj, the Alumni Association grew Slow, but Stronger with time. Elections were held resulting with President Mr. Casmir Kishore Kumar, Vice President Dr. Karpagam, Secretary Mrs. Antony Metilda, Joint Secretary Mr. Ali Asgar Guru, Treasurer Dr. A Pouline Juliet, Accountant Mr. Vinod John Paul P, and Joint Accountant Mr. Cruz Nirmal Kumar.
On 12th November 2022, the development of the Alumni Association was discussed. The committee registration was in progress, and an association bank account was being opened. There was also a plan for the creation of a website. The meeting was attended by 18+ members, and the silver jubilee celebration planning was discussed. College magazines were also released during this session.
On 16th November 2022, a seminar on “Self-Motivation along with Self-assessment” was held at Thomas Auditorium. The seminar, presided by Mr. Casmir Kishore Kumar, focused on personality development.
On 30th December 2022, the Bishop Ambrose Alumni Association was officially registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act. The registration marked a significant milestone, with the objective to renew and strengthen relationships among former students, faculty members, and present students. The association also aimed to felicitate former students who achieved greatness in their fields, organize academic activities, institute scholarships for outstanding students, and publish yearly newsletters.
On 18th January 2023, a Google Meet was held, presided by the president, Mr. Kishore Kumar. The meeting focused on the progress of the Silver Jubilee Association Day celebration, with discussions on souvenir article contributions by alumni.
On 26th January 2023 at 4:00 PM, a meeting was held in the Conference Hall, presided by Mr. Kishore Kumar. The meeting included the collection of master data by integrating an option for alumni registration through the Alumni Association website. Additionally, the decoration of the college nameboard with LED lighting was discussed as part of the association’s activities.
On 4th February 2023, Bishop Ambrose College released Google Forms for a Marathon 2023, organized by the College on account of the upcoming Silver Jubilee Association Day celebration. Numerous Alumni participated and added more Energy and Enthusiasm to the event.
With the up-coming College Silver Jubilee Celebration, the Alumni Association has been enthusiastically involved in various value add session and activities, for the betterment of the College.
on 18th Feb 2023 at 3:45 PM, under the presidency of Most Rev. Dr. L. Thomas Aquinas and Honorable Thiru V Senthil Balaji as Chief Guest, the most awaited ” Milestone – Silver Jubilee” was Celebrated in a Grand manner. With major contribution in the form of Articles, Testimonials, Poems and other creative artworks, the Silver Jubilee Souvenir was released and distributed on the same day. Many of the Alumni were invited to graced the occasion with their Presence. Alumni Association played a vital role in the accomplishment of the Big Day.
On 21st May 2023, a Brainstorming session on the Alumni Association took place in the College Conference Hall, presided by Mr. Kishore Kumar.
On 28th May 2023, another meeting was held in the College Conference Hall, presided by Mr. Kishore Kumar. This session focused on the division of responsibilities among the core group and association members. Additionally, a member data sheet for master data collection was created in Google Forms
On 22 June 2023, at 6:00 PM During the meeting, responsibilities were allocated to the core group, and additional members were appointed to the association.
On 23 July 2023, coordinators of the Alumni Association sat in a discussion on formulating Rules and Regulations for the Association, under the presidency of Rev Fr Gnanaprakasam.
On 4th February 2024, a meeting was held at the College Conference Hall, presided over by President Kishore Kumar. The primary focus of the meeting was on gathering alumni data and creating a new web page along with database management for the College Alumni records. Additionally, new alumni business groups were formed on WhatsApp, designed to promote business leads, career opportunities, and mutual professional benefits within the Bishop Ambrose Alumni family. A major milestone was also announced, as Bishop Ambrose College was officially declared “Autonomous”.
On 18th May 2024, a Zoom Meet was held, presided by Mr. Kishore Kumar. During this meeting, ideas for the Alumni Day celebration, including planning and execution, were discussed in detail.
On 28th July 2024, another meeting took place at the College Conference Hall, presided over by President Mr. Kishore Kumar. The discussion centered around planning for the Alumni Day celebration, continuing the work on creating a new web page and managing the alumni database, as well as expanding the alumni business groups on WhatsApp for professional networking. Logo designing for the Bishop Ambrose Alumni Association is under progress. Plans for decorating the college nameboard with LED lighting were also reviewed, as well as the design for the Alumni Association Day banner.
On 31st July 2024, another meeting was held in the College Conference Hall, presided by Mr. Kishore Kumar. The meeting focused on Alumni Association Day discussions, including the drafting of invitations and encouraging alumni to complete their registration via Google Forms. Preparations for videos, cultural events, chairs, and speaker arrangements for the upcoming Alumni Day event were also covered.
4th August 2024, again the Alumni Association met at the College Conference Hall at 5:00 PM, presided by Mr. Kishore Kumar, to have a detailed discussions on the roles and responsibilities for the Alumni Association Day.
On 11th August 2024, another meeting took place in the College Conference Hall, presided by Mr. Kishore Kumar. Invitations were also extended to the management and faculty inviting them for the Alumni Day celebration. A final review about The Grand Alumni Meet preparation progress was done.
On 15th August 2024, “The Grand Alumni Meet” was held at the Open Auditorium, presided by the Secretary of the College, Very Rev Fr Dr RDE Jerome, and the Principal of the College, Dr A Peter Raj. The event was an exuberant success, with more than 500 alumni from various batches coming together to celebrate. The gathering began with a detailed report on the Alumni Association’s activities, followed by a series of actions, including felicitating the core and active members. The event was a blend of addressing the audience, enjoying food, and engaging in entertainment, creating an eventful and memorable evening for everyone involved.
On 2nd Feb 2025, Mr. Kishore Kumar gathered the team to enhance the Bishop Ambrose Alumni Association’s Webpage and bring more visibility and transparency on the Activities held in the Association, to the entire Alumni Community, therefore encourage many more Alumni to involve, participate and Amplify the Association’s reach to make a Difference in the Society.
The Association has been actively participating, progressing and is gaining its prominence. With over 6200 members as of 2024, the Association has become more Robust and influential. The team is diligently working to compile and enhance a comprehensive Master Data, aiming to build an even stronger and more unified Alumni database.
We, the esteemed Alumni Association, hereby propose the establishment of an annual
“Grand Alumni Meet”
to be held on the
15th of August each year,
coinciding with the national holiday. This occasion will serve as a distinguished gathering to celebrate our collective legacy and strengthen the bonds of our illustrious community.
